John had a career in the oil and gas industry for Fluid Sealing Products, he also served in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1978.
John had a passion for offshore fishing, cross country motorcycle trips, traveling, motor sports, and the Houston Astros. He also loved to cook, host, and make sure everyone was fed.
More than anything John loved his family; especially visiting and catching up with his grandchildren, Tatum and Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Betty Lou Blake, brothers Mike, Steve, and David.
He is survived by his daughter Brittany, grandchildren Tatum and Tucker, Son Sam, wife Hannah, and granddaughter Diane, brother Tom, wife Nadine, sister-in-law Anne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friends who were like family.
