Johnny L. Thomas, 85, of Houston, Texas passed away on January 26 2016. He was born in Laurel, Mississippi to Ruby Lee and Hugh Benjamin Thomas. He retired as a commercial truck driver. He had a passion for deer hunting, fishing, religion, traveling, people watching, and he never met a stranger.
Johnny was preceded in death by father, Hugh Benjamin Thomas; mother, Ruby Lee Thomas Scarborough; brothers Charles and William Thomas; wives June Thomas and Mary Thomas; and son, Kevin Thomas.
He is survived by daughters Sherri Lynn Thomas Jaquette and husband Tom and Karen Lee Thomas Platz and husband Larry; his grandchildren; and great-grandchild.
Family will receive friends on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with Johnny's Celebration of Life to follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Forest Park East Funeral Home Chapel. He will laid to rest in Forest Park East Cemetery following the chapel service.
