

Jon Alan Nordheim, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on January 20, 1981 in Texas City, Texas. He passed away in his sleep at his home in Clear Lake City on May 12, 2011, from complications of a recent auto accident.
Jon grew up in Clear Lake City where he attended Ward Elementary, Clear Lake Intermediate, and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1999. He attended several Texas colleges, the last of which was the Texas Chiropractic College.
Jon was a gifted athlete. As a child he excelled in many sports, beginning with competitive long distance running at an early age. Jon ran his first 1 mile fun run at the age of three, began soccer at five, and started competitive swimming at eight. At age 12 he competed in the TAC Junior National track meet in the 3000 meter run. While at Clear Lake High School, as a freshman and sophomore, he was the goalie on the water polo team which won the Texas state championships in 1995 and 1996. Jon was also a very gifted soccer player. He played both goalie and forward for Clear Lake High School for four years, helping Clear Lake High School win the district and bi-district championships as a senior in 1999. Jon also played for multiple independent local gold level soccer teams in the greater Clear Lake area. Most recently Jon was an avid weight lifter and body builder at the Webster YMCA, where he will be missed.
Jon had the ability to light up the room with a smile or fill it with his laughter. He was a wonderful friend, brother, and son who had a way of making things better with a huge hug. No one was a stranger to Jon, everyone was a welcome and included friend.
Jon was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Lucile Nordheim and Lois Farmer, and his grandfather “Papa” John Farmer. He is survived by his parents, Tracie and Alan Nordheim of Clear Lake; his sister Sondre’ Crabtrey and her husband James of Kyle, Texas, and their three children, nephews Chase and Conner, and niece Kinley of Kyle, Texas; his brother Eric Nordheim of Kyle, Texas; his grandfather, William Nordheim of Bakersfield, California; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from Texas, California, Oregon and Washington; and a host of friends that considered him part of their family.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, May 20, 2011, at the Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas, 77598. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12:30 PM, May 21, 2011, at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Baylor College of Medicine and mailed to the Department of Neurosurgery, c/o Office of Development and Advancement, One Baylor Plaza, MS: BCM160, Houston, TX, 77030.
