Joey and I were classmates starting in elementary school. I always thought he was great. He was fun and in 7th grade was a beetle in the talent show. 
I know he’ll always be in our hearts.

Rest in peace Joe. We are all going to miss you, especially your wit. After all those years in high school, laughing together, then at our reunion and since then on Facebook, I feel like it was just yesterday that we were “hanging out together”

You definitely will be missed. My prayers for your family, who I never got to meet, I’m sure they’re going to be missing you a lot.

I worked with Joe for nine years at Ohmstede LaPorte. His work ethic and knowledge of the industry was only surpassed by his sense of humor and quick wit. Many a Friday afternoon at the plant his booming voice would announce a job coming in with one word over the intercom—“Incoming.”   Joe is an icon within the gulf coast heat exchanger market.   May God bless his family. Joe was a blessing to us all. 

I’ll miss my friend, his wit, his smile, his love of life, his never ending love of his wife and family.  We worked together for nine years at Ohmstede.  Every day we laughed at ourselves and the happenings of the day.  Love you, my friend. 

Joe and I have been friends for many years. I will miss him tremendously! I have missed his Christmas poems since his retirement from Brask. Joe set an example for many with his work ethic and was a mentor to many with his knowledge. Joe never hesitated to help anyone he could. He is loved by many and will be missed! May God be with, comfort and bless the Helm family this week as they honer Joe.

Joe was so many things to me coworker , boss , mentor , but most of all a friend 
Joe could light up any room with his endless stories , infectious smile and laughter .
Seldom,  if ever ,did I hear a disparaging word against anyone always he was always positive and uplifting.
I have many memories that I shared with him , his walking his invisible dog in the shop , recanting farfetched tales from the Art Bell show the night before at lunch , and his wishful declaration that all he could possibly eat was one half of a donut .
So many memories over the years, all of them bring a smile to my face and happiness to my heart.
Joe , you will be sorely missed to all who were fortunate enough to have you in their lives . The world will be a lot less brighter without you.

Joe was so many different things to me…my “work”Dad, mentor, amazing Boss, and friend. He taught me so much and for that I will be forever Grateful! I can’t believe it’s been like 16 years since I worked with him. I will forever miss his laugh and his devotion to his family. They were always the apple of his eye. It breaks my heart he was taken too soon. Godspeed.

I loved getting to know Joe through Facebook and through his great sense of humor. He was a year ahead of me at Conestoga and it was wonderful to see him and Tonda at our last reunion. We will all miss you, Joe. Rest on angel’s wings my friend.  Love and prayers to Tonda and all of the family.

Joe was a family man with a great sense of humor. Those of us who knew him through high school will remember him and smile. He was a loyal friend and- as someone said- always the life of the party. He spoke often about his family and enjoyed life to the fullest. I’m glad we got to chat at the reunion- he was happily  enjoying retirement.  My condolences to his family.

Joe was a friendly and kind person with a great sense of humor.  He will be missed by all his classmates from Conestoga.  He loved his family and mentioned them alot in conversations.

Joe was a heck of a guy. Always ready with a story or a joke. I worked for a couple years with him and also did a couple hunting trips with him. always the life of the party. we stayed in touch and spoke from time to time and he was a friend.  You will be missed Buddy.

I will always remember Joe with a big smile, that wonderful smile, that made everyone want to be with him. I have great memories of him in Conestoga HS. I m so glad I got to see him and speak with him at our reunion. May he rest in the peace of the Lord.

It is difficult for me to believe Joe is  no longer with us.  For 72 years  he was my younger brother.  He called me Sis and I called him Joey (much to his chagrin as adult, but he allowed it).
Joe was born on Ground Hog Day during a blizzard.  Once into this world  he hit the ground running.  He was very active and curious, and into everything as a toddler.   His curiosity never waivered throughout his life.  For many years he swam competitively at Colonial Village Swim Club and Suburban Swim Club.  He also played and loved baseball.  He was an Eagle Scout.   He earned an MBA from the University of Houston which made our parents so proud. 
But more than anything in this world, Joe loved his children and his wife.  He worried about them, fretted about them and loved them dearly.  
Dear Joe,  I will miss you so much but believe we will see each other again.  Wherever you are I am sure you are busy exploring.

Mystical!  That’s what he called me every time  I came over to play at their house with Jocelyn.   I remember how he supported Joc and Tonda by coming to watch our shows with RAFA and CLMB.   He was always kind to me and I’ll always remember him for that.  Brandon, Joc,  and Mama T,   I am so sorry.   Much love to you all. Love, Misty

Pops loved Baseball, this was opening day!

Joe is lifelong friend, since early elementary school. We’ve stayed in touch as we both moved all over the country. True BFF!
Joe was always a happy guy, industrious, and loved his family.
He had a great engineering mind. In maybe 5th grade for a science project, he made a spitball throwing machine out of wire coat hangars and rubber bands. It worked great. A true engineering marvel for a 5th grader. Displayed his early intellect combined with his lifelong sense of humor. 
I loved the guy and will miss him dearly.
