He was born to Josepha John Weidner and Joseph Palermo on April 19, 1946 in Bodenkirchen, West Germany. At the young age of nine, Joseph moved to the United States where he lived with his Aunt Pearl (Palermo) Warth for a year his Uncle Frank and Aunt Lena Palermo raised him thereafter.
Joseph was a graduate of Larmar High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from University of Houston. A good portion of his career was spent at Rockwell Space Operations as a senior data programmer and analyst. After that he spent the latter part of his work in customer service; he had an affinity to work with people. Joseph had a passion for reading, solving crossword puzzles, and trivia; he also had a soft spot for animals.
He is preceded in death by his parents Josepha John Weidner and Joe Palermo, one brother Walter John, as well as his Aunt Lena and Uncle Frank who had raised him from the age of ten.
He is survived by his two children Nick (Rachel) Weidner and Elisabeth (Tendai) Lynch and five grandchildren Broc, Lincoln, Miles, Liam, and Grant.
Visitation will be held 9:00 AM, Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Providence Baptist Church in Pasadena with Funeral Services starting at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Houston National Cemetery.
