Joyce L. Husband

Joyce La Nelle Husband, 80 entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at South East Memorial Hospital. Joyce was born January 8, 1934, a daughter of the late William Gilbert and Vernola Holt. She graduated from Clear Creek High school. She worked for various doctors offices as a Lab Tech to later settle at Bay Shore Hospital to advance her career running the Hematology Department where she retired in 1988. During her time at Bay Shore Hospital, Joyce met the love of her life Bruce Husband. They were lucky to spend the last thirty-five wonderful years of her life together. Joyce enjoyed teaching at the Stitching Post for several years as a hobby. Joyce was passionate about knitting and sewing. She spent many hours sewing for herself as well as making blankets, booties, and other clothing items for kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. You will be greatly missed Granny.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving brothers Gordon Holt, Elton Holt and Melvin Holt; and her loving great-granddaughter Kiera Spencer.

Joyce leaves behind her loving memories to be cherished by her loving husband Bruce Husband; brother Winston and Rebeca Holt; daughter Deborah and Ryan Hartley; son Michael Thompson; daughter Danita Reifke and Barry; daughter Charlotte Hargrave; son Bruce Jr. and Judy Husband; son Mark and Kathy Husband; daughter Marie and Dan Barth; son Joseph and Vicky Husband; daughter Cecelia and Shannon Lund; daughter Mary and Wiley Alexander; son James and Jessica Husband. She was a grandmother to Hillard "Boyd" and Romney Corder, Joshua and Jessica Corder, Jana Corder, Tressia Felts, Nona Smith, Shelby Reifke, Eric Lozes, David Lozes, Andrew Husband, Kevin and Kristin Husband, Benjamin Husband, Sarah Arnold and fiance Hugo Martinez, Camille and David Banuelos, Ryan Barth, Michelle Barth, Erin Husband, John Lund, Sonny Lund, and Abigail "Abby" Jewell. Joyce was a great-grandmother to Peyton, Whitley, Reace, Orry, Aven, Malakai, MiKayla, Marissa, Jacob, Mia, and Delia.
