June Lois (Dodson) Coolgrove, 66, of Friendswood, Texas passed away peacefully March, 15, 2015 in her home with her husband and daughters by her side. June was born in DeRidder, Louisiana in Beauregard Parish on June 4, 1948 to M. E. and Lois Agnes Dodson. She moved to Texas at the age of 10 and graduated from Liberty High School. She met her husband of 47 years, W. C. (Bill) Coolgrove, in Houston, Texas in February of 1968. June and Bill were married that same year in August. With the exception of a 2 year period where Bill served his country in Korea, they never left each other’s side. June was a lifelong fan of the Astros, Oilers and the Texans. She enjoyed cooking and continued her mother’s tradition of fine Southern home cooking. There were many occasions where June would cook for family, friends and even strangers. Her home and her heart were always open. June enjoyed life both in the city and the country. Her time at her property in Waelder, Texas was a special time for June. It was her and Bill’s opportunity to expose their children and grandchildren to the “country side of life“. Spending time often with family and friends in the country, these memories will forever be imbedded in many minds and hearts. Whether in the city or the in country, June touched so many lives and hearts with her friendship, her smile and her love. June will be greatly missed beyond what any words could express. June was preceded in passing by her parents, brother Billy Gene Dodson, and half-brother Buddy Dodson. She is survived by her husband, loving family pet Pudgie, and daughters Julie Anne (Coolgrove) and husband Jon D. Smith of League City and Jennifer Lynn (Coolgrove) Haught and son-in-law, John Mark Haught also of League City.
