Kellye Lyn Stoops

On May 10, 1961, a beautiful baby girl named Kellye Lyn Pettus was born to Jim and Marie. She grew up in Houston, Texas until her family moved to Bacliff after a house fire where she attended middle school through high school in Dickinson ISD. Kellye continued her education becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked in numerous nursing facilities before transitioning to private duty nursing. Her compassion for her patients was the pride of her life and could be observed by anyone who met her. The only passion of hers that competed with her love of nursing was her love for animals. She adored her dogs Diamond, Leo and Rocky.

Through her marriage to Randy J Stoops in 1978 her only child, Kasondrah Lyn Stoops (Kasi for short), was born in 1984. In 1987, she met the love of her life George Durocher and they were together until his untimely death.

Kellye is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Marie Pettus, sister Jodi Coble, husband George Durocher and grand-dog Xelia.

She is survived by her daughter Kasondrah Stoops, son-in-law Oscar Ruiz, brother Terry Coble, and longtime friend Holly Lohman.
