Larry graduated from St. Edwards High School in Austin, Texas in 1959. He then enlisted in the Army Reserve. After the completion of his service, he attended Southwest Texas State University where he found a bride, had his first child, and earned a B.S. in Business Administration in 1963. Upon graduation he began his career in the financial industry in Victoria, Texas. He then moved his family of three to Houston in 1966 where his successful career in banking started. Moving to the field of medical equipment leasing, the now father of two traveled extensively throughout the United States. He then formed his own equipment leasing company for which he was prosperous. After he retired from the leasing industry, he became a consultant in various business endeavors; including golf course design, the waste management equipment industry and lastly, he entered the world of foundation repair.
As Larry worked diligently throughout his many professions, he always made time for coaching little league football and baseball, and enjoying times at the lake with his family and friends. With his deep love of golf, he worked with the Houston Golf Association for their annual PGA tournaments and the NCAA Southwest Conference Golf Championship as the lead coordinator for several years.
The pastimes he shared with Felicie were many. They cruised and sailed in the Caribbean seas and off the coasts of Galveston. Taking to the roads, RVing was their passion. Their favorite was traveling all over the East Coast of the United States and Canada. Meeting the Amish, over 20 years ago, is at the top of the list of the many beautiful experiences they shared together on the open road. The friendships with these treasured people have continued to this day.
Larry was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus. This was of the utmost importance to Larry, as his father was the founder of the Knights of Columbus Insurance Division in Texas. He enjoyed volunteering his time in the food pantry at Mary Queen Catholic Church. In more recent years, Larry found a love of drawing, sketching and painting. His artistic flair focused on his love of dogs. If you knew Larry, you knew his many cherished dogs were his TRUE FAVORITES.
