Lawrence "Larry" Wheaton

Lawrence Arnold Wheaton, son of Arno and May Wheaton, born December 17, 1929, in Colby, Kansas, died August 14, 2012. He grew up in Colby surrounded by family and friends, attended public schools, graduating High School in 1947.

He met the love of his life, Loretta, in 1949 and the couple were married in 1950. A year after the birth of their first daughter, the couple decided to move south, seeking a warmer climate and better employment opportunities. They found these items in Texas City, where Larry worked 38 years in the petro- chemical industry, first at American Oil and later Monsanto and Sterling.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 61 ½ years, Loretta Haines Wheaton, children: Luanne Faircloth of Friendswood; Linda Reiter, LeRoy Wheaton (Eileen) both of Santa Fe, Leonard Wheaton (Joyce) of Oakley, CA., Lorraine Wheaton of Friendswood. One sister, Betty Cox (Robert), of Springtown, TX, along with 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandsons.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, Tx 77598.
