Lena Jo and Wanda,

I want to share this with you. As you know, we chatted via vp (video phone) frequently. 

In one of my most recent conversations I had with her, she kept telling me how blessed she was to have two wonderful daughters, who would never and never had neglected her in any way. She thanked you two for all love you had provided her with. She also told me she was blessed to have all sweet and loving grandchildren and great and great great grandchildren. She always enjoyed her time with everyone every time you all got together for holidays and birthday parties. She loved and enjoyed watching all great grandchildren playing, running around, chatting with others, and the most important, how they showed her that they loved her. She just loved it.

From our conversations, your mother thanked you for everything you two did for her and for your loves. Sometimes she felt that you did so much for her and that what she had done for you wasn't as enough. I told her that she taught you both to be good persons, good daughters, good wives, good mothers, good grandmothers, and good Christians over many and many years and that she should be proud of the accomplishments she had done. She smiled and did not say any more as if she did not realize how much she had contributed to your lives. She asked me how she taught you. I told her that what she did for her father, his wife, and all her siblings was one of many good examples both your daddy and she had set up for you two. She nodded and smiled.

Thank you both for the beautiful life you had given to and love you had for your mom. Even thou your mom is with your daddy and the Lord, I know she miss you.

I worked with Wanda when she was with Travelers.  She always made me smile and enjoyed working with her.

We will miss you Mamaw. Give Papaw a hug from all of us. So glad you got to meet Preslee before you went to be with Papaw.  Love you.

Lennie.. We know you are always in our hearts and in thoughts. I enjoyed laughing with you.
Michelle always calls PawPaw Joe since she was a little girl.
God took you for the better place to be with Joe. We love you..

'Lennie' was like a 'second Mom' to me.  I first met her at First Baptist Pasadena, and quickly grew to love her and Lena as if they were my family.  I will miss her beautiful smile and her sweet spirit.  I am so thankful to have had the privilege of knowing her and calling her my friend.  I will miss you, Lennie!

My deepest condolences to the family. Mamaw was such a sweet person. Loved all the card games and signing lessons.

I could not find right words to describe what a wonderful "mother" and friend you were to both Betty and me when we were young. I also remember how you tried to be there for us to lean on you or to talk to you when my own mother was not available for some reason although she tried to be there for us all the times. Both my mother and you are irreplaceable. 

I cherish all good old memories I have with all your family, especially Lena Jo and Wanda, who were like sisters to us. Joe was always there like a father to us and was the only male we had in our youth and look up to as a father. Thank you all for being my family and extending your love to my family. I love you very much just like my own mother.

If you ever see Betty, my mother, my father or Freddy, hug them for me, and send them my much love.

Looking forward to joining you all and have the fun again one day soon.

Lennie brings back so many special memories.  Lennie and Joe were such a special couple in Opal and Eugene's life.  Especially the work life at Travelers she shared with, Mom/Opal.  Such fond memories of such a sweet, special lady.  Our sympathies to the family,  Judy Piercy

Dear Lennie,Thanks for your great faith and wonderful support to our Houston Deaf Senior Citizens Love Fund for years & years. You'll be greatly missed by me and the group of Deaf Seniors.You are one of wonderful women among us and such sweet lady, which we won't forget.You have a wonderful family who always love you and great take care of you. I was saddened to learn of Lennie's passing, but know her earthly body is at peace.  In heaven, though, I am sure she is dancing with her beloved husband, Joe, and her dear friends who have gone on before her!  I will always remember this sweet, sweet woman with fondness.  I spoke with Lennie via video-phone twice last year about this time while in Dalls visiting my family ... in May when my own mother (Lorena Smith Bubeck) passed and again in July when Juanita Gunn passed. It was great to see & talk to her! God Bless You, Lennie, and my sincerest condolences to your family.

My 1st "adult" job was with Travelers Ins Company mailroom, almost 36 years ago. As I would pass by Wanda's desk she always had a smile.  She most likely didn't know what an impression she made on me but I still remember it like it was yesterday.  To her family my deepest sympathy.

You will be missed but always be remembered and loved...  You meant so much to my mother (her best friend for 82 years) and myself.We will always remember you and memories to cherish.   You are now at peace with your wonderful husband.

Mamaw brought such joy into our children's life and I am so appreciative for that. God Bless you Mamaw, I know you are in a better place and we will all join you one day. I will miss you and I thank you for extending your love to me.

Lennie is always remembered by us (members of the Bay Area Club of the Deaf). She was wonderful woman I have ever known. I love her and miss her. She is in peace heaven with her sweet husband.
