He served in the United States Army from December 2nd, 1959, to November 30th, 1965, followed by a career in pipe and structural welding for 30 years. Luis loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved to hunt, fish, watch old westerns, listen to oldies music, and loved to sit around a campfire on his ranch in Rocksprings, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Reynaldo and Macario Chacon, and sister Josephine Aleman.
Luis is survived by daughter Elida Olvera and her husband Mario, son Luis Chacon and his wife Herlinda, daughter Rosalinda Rodriguez and her husband Joseph.
Grandchildren Priscilla Olvera, Jessica and her husband James Moreno, Elizabeth Olvera and her husband Joshua Ortega, Sabrina Olvera, Robert Durham, Veronica Chacon, and fiancé Jose Alvarado, Luis Chacon and his wife Lauren, Joshua Chacon, and fiancée Emily Ramirez.
Great-grandchildren Israel Olvera, Analiz Olvera, Sophia Moreno, James Samuel Moreno, Genesis Ortega, Joshua Ortega Jr. and Olivia Grace Chacon.
Extended grandchildren Anita Rodriguez, Julie Rodriguez, Melissa Rodriguez, and Angelica Rodriguez and extended great-grandchildren, Maddie, Lucas, Mason, Hailey, Ian, Cesar Jr, Matthew, Liylah, Everly, and Casey.
Sister Beatrice Rodriguez, brother-in-law Freddy Aleman, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 5th, 2024, at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, TX from 5pm – 8pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 6th, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, located at 1705 8th Street in Galena Park, TX at 11 am. with committal to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
