Mabel went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on November 7, 2016. She was 84 years old and a two and a half year resident of Winchester Lodge in Alvin. She was predeceased by her husband, George Calvin Osburn. She is survived by sons, Kerry L. Osburn and wife Linda of Rosharon, Calvin L. Osburn of South Houston, and Kirby Osburn of Oklahoma; brother, Pat Cochran and wife Wanda of Madisonville; 7 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many other loved ones.
Mabel loved her church, Heights Baptist. She loved going to Alvin Senior Citizens, playing bingo, going to Frobergs and Walmart, eating at Whata-A-Burger, wearing all those hats and passing out candy.
Many thanks to the employees and staff at Winchester Lodge and Resolution Hospice for a job well done. Also, many thanks to all of Mabel’s friends in her Sunday School Class at Heights Baptist, at Alvin Memorial Gardens (where she resided for 10 years) and at Alvin Sr. Citizens, who spoke up for her, took her shopping, gave her rides, took her out to eat and looked out for her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment Forest Park East Cemetery.
We’ll miss that laugh, those hats and all those Werther’s candies. Donations in remembrance of Mabel can be made to the Hope Dental Clinic in Alvin, Texas or the Center for Pregnancy in Friendswood, Texas.
