Margaret “Margo” Montgomery, a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on May 29, 2025. Her journey through life, which began January 20, 1941, was marked by an unwavering commitment to the service of others, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
For many decades, Margaret devoted herself to the teaching profession at Alvin Community College, where her spirit touched the lives of countless students. After retiring, her dedication to providing God’s work extended into the homeless community where she was one of the founding members of the Crossroads Homeless Shelter. She faithfully served the community for over twenty years, becoming a shining example of kindness and empathy to all of those that walked through the doors. Margaret lit up a room with her joyous spirit always ensuring everyone felt loved; she truly was loved by all.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Bob, her brother Ray Loden and his wife Lynette, and her two daughters, Kathy and Sandra, and grandson Christopher. She is survived by her sons, Monte and Lance Montgomery, his wife, Amy, her two daughters, Linda Skripka and her husband, James, and Julie Montgomery. Margaret is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Margo has requested to bring a backpack filled with items for the homeless.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM. The committal service will immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. A reception will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
