

Margarita Saldaña Reyna, 87, entered eternal rest on September 16, 2025. She was born on September 5, 1938, in Lyford, Texas, to Lamar Suarez and Julio Zapata Saldaña. A proud graduate of Lyford High School, Margarita was honored as the school's very first Homecoming Queen.
Margarita married the love of her life, Jesus M. Reyna, and together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and family in South Houston. They were married for 54 years. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. A woman of deep faith, she joyfully gave her time as a church volunteer, CCD teacher, bazaar volunteer, and active member of the St. Augustine's Women's Guild. She volunteered at her children's school. She worked for many years as an election clerk.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jesus; her sister, Maria de la Luz Cavazos; her brothers, Julio Saldaña, Jr., Armando Alberto Saldaña, Rodolfo Saldaña, and Jose Guadalupe Saldaña; her son, Gerardo Reyna; and her son-in-law, Paul Kuntz.
Margarita's memory will live on through her children, Ilianna Reyna Kuntz, Martha Reyna-Rebelle (Lee), and Cesar Reyna; her grandchildren, Aria Kuntz and Thomas Rebelle; and her siblings, Eustacio (Cookie) Saldaña, Tomas (Gloria) Saldaña, Lamar Diana Cruz, and Diamantina (Frank) Morales. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith that her family will always cherish.
A vigil will be held from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, with a rosary service at 7:00 pm, at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on 9/27/2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, with Father Paul Foltyn officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Margarita's healthcare team at Kelsey-Seybold Clinics, especially Dr. Victor Sims, her longtime primary care provider, as well as Baylor's Dan Duncan Cancer Center and St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, for their compassionate care and support.
Margarita will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
If friends and loved ones wish to honor Margarita, the family suggests making donations to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Margarita's memory in place of flowers.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, on September 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A reception will also take place at the same venue on September 26, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
The funeral service is scheduled for September 27, 2025, at St Augustine Catholic Church, 5560 Laurel Creek Way, Houston, TX 77017, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm.
A committal service will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, on September 27, 2025, from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.
