Marilyn A. Isaacson

Marilyn Ann Isaacson, 73, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015. She was born on August 18, 1941 to W. Merle Southard and F. Delores Jones Southard in Weleekta, Oklahoma. Marilyn was in the first graduating class of Jesse Jones High School in Houston in 1959, after previously attending San Jacinto High School. She was active in the band and played clarinet. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in 1963 where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

Marilyn was an English teacher for 24 years and was passionate about connecting with her students and teaching them to love reading and writing. She loved the Lord and her family with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Bob Isaacson, who just passed away on June 1, 2015. She is survived by her son, Marc Isaacson and his wife Cherry and her three children Randa, Tyler and Trina; daughter Christy Williamson and her husband Charlie; grandchildren Matt Isaacson and wife Rachelle, Amy Isaacson, Kimberly Isaacson, Caitlyn Williamson and Cody Williamson, plus four great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home. The celebration of Marilyn’s life will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 3:00pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home with interment to immediately follow in Forest Park East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made at any Wells Fargo location in memory of Marilyn Isaacson. Proceeds will go the Providential Baptist Church in Pearland, Texas.
