My condolences to the entire Wagenhoffer family.  Mark was a special person that I admired for his intelligence and kindness, and clearly he was that type of person throughout his lifetime.  I have fond memories of Mark and Janet and I was glad to be in classes with them in high school and had the priveledge to know them, because Karl was one of my friends and Teresa was such a special person to me as we were growing up.  I miss you guys and my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I only found out a few minutes ago about mark's passing. My condolences to his family and friends. I just read through the guest book entries and it's clear that many people cared deeply for him.

My relationship with Mark was founded in business some 10 years ago. I'm a fire investigator with an insurance company and Mark was one of many forensic engineers that was constantly sending me marketing materials and calling me trying to get me to use his services. Believe me, as good as he was as an investigative engineer, he was an even better (or persitant) salesman. He finally wore me down and I hired him to help me on an investigation. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Mark was a one of a kind engineer on a fire scene. He loved it, all of it. The hot, gritty, dirty, climbing over and through charcoal and ashes...I have never worked with another engineer that would go to the lengths Mark would in trying to find out exactly what happened.

We ended up working quite a few investigations over the years and I developed a real admiration for him as a professional and as a friend. I join all of you as one who will miss him.

I believe that God makes extra special people and puts them on the Earth to touch other's lives.  Mark was one of God's extra special people.  He touched the lives of his family, his coworkers, his clients, his church members, his neighbors, other sailors, other radio operators.  He was the epitome of kindness and always, always concerned with doing the right thing. When he loved you he made sure you knew it. He was always surprised to learn that someone thought well of him. When you needed him all you had do was say so and he was there to help in anyway possible.  He seldom complained about anything.  He loved his work. Worked excessively hard, yet was surprised and humbled by his success.  Men like Mark come along once in a generation.  He is missed every day, by many.  "Sleep tight. I love you."

My deepest sympathy to the Wagenhoffer family, I think of Janet often.

My family sends their deepest condolences with Mark's family and all the Wagenhoffer's. We will remember our childhood memories of laughter and all the good times we all had growing up as neighbors. We will always share memories of Mark within our hearts. I knew Mark since sixth grade science camp and through high-school.  Great person with a lot of passion for everything he did.  Mark and I had many classes throughout middle-school and highschool.  I always enjoyed his insights and how he looked at things differently.  We did not stay in touch after highschool, but I never forgot him.  I saw a picture of him sailing his boat on Classmate.com and I thought "Boy, he's living his dream."  Based on what I read above he led a very rewarding life and was blessed with many family and friends!

Mark became one of my best friends about 10 years ago. He and I just clicked on so many opinions of everything in life. I will have a permanent hole in my heart where Mark was. He was definitely irreplaceable as a friend, (more like brother). To his family I wish you peace and I hope in time the pain will subside. I am blessed just to have known Uncle Mark and am thankful for the times I got to spend with him.  I will never forget the kindness he'd shown to myself and my husband, and I hope we can keep his memory alive by just passing that kindness on to others.  Though it's hard to see him go, we know he is in a better place.

I had the pleasure of working with Mark at SEA. Even though we were in different offices and many miles apart I enjoyed meeting and working with him. We had some great conversations. My condolences to his family and friends.

I've rarely been blessed to meet a man such as this. He was so many things to so many people. Husband, brother, father, grandfather,friend, and beloved "uncle mark". To know him, even if briefly, was to know kindness. I am so thankful my children were given a few precious memories with him.

I've known Mark for over 8 years . . . have heard the MANY stories of his adventures while sailing with his parents and brother, the many stories and pictures of both of his beautiful daughters - got to see his face light up as he talked about how wonderful his granddaughters are and how he loved being their trampoline - and have been blessed to know his soulmate Beth and hear how much he adored spending time with her . . . relaxing at the beach, riding bikes, Margarita Fridays and I could go on and on!!!  Mark was a WONDERFUL PERSON with a heart of gold . . . he loved his work, was respectful to everyone, didn't have a mean bone in his body . . .  He left us way too early . . . If I could spend just one more moment with Mark I would LET HIM KNOW how much he meant to me . . . how much I enjoyed working with him, talking to him, hearing all about his family but most of how much I valued his friendship. The days ahead will not be the same . . . I miss you Mark . . . You will forever hold a place in my heart . . . RIP buddy!

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. May you find peace and love in all of the memories that you shared of Mark.  I always thought of Mark as my older brother or cousin.  Mark is now with Janet and they are sailing with the angels.

I knew Mark for about ten years and would see him 3-4 times a year usually at family outings or holidays.What I will remember most about Mark is how he treated others and how he was always available to help anyone he could,be it advice or a good deed.I will miss my friend and try to be as caring and compassionate in my daily life as I witnessed him be on so many occasions.My prayers go out to all of the family,may God be with you.

     It is with great sadness that I learned that Mark had gone from this world.  There is no doubt in my mind that he was welcomed in heaven.  My daughter, Beth, has been his long time companion.  But not only did he love her, but he often welcomed, to wherever he and Beth were, large numbers of my other children and grandchildren and there girl friends.  He took them sailing and spent hours grilling great food and he was patient and kind to them all.  He was a kind and good man who was very bright and worked hard.  My family loved him so very much. We worked with Mark on a business level and enjoyed his professionalism, dedication to his craft and willingness to help. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on. He is now at peace.

  Mark and I were married for 23 years.  Mark had a unique way of sharing his love of the outdoors with his family. Because of Mark we share the love of nature, hunting and life.  He was most content when he was in the great outdoors.  Thanks for the many happy memories.

I met Mark shortly after he joined SEA.  Even though I worked in the St. Louis office, I got Mark involved on several of my projects both in St. Louis and in Houston.  Mark was a good man, cared about his family, loved sailing, and took great care to do a good job for SEA and his clients.  He was just a great all around person, and I know he will be missed by his family, but also his extended family at SEA.  May the Lord God be with his family during this time, in the days to come.

Mark was my Big Brother. He loved my sister, Beth dearly. He was always there to listen to me or to answer some silly question I had. Friday Nights at El Toro, Margaritas and me making Mark laugh, I will never forget. Or the deep philosophical debates we had :). He had a heart of pure gold, honest, loving and loved family. My family welcomed Mark in with open arms, he taught my brother the great art of frying a turkey, and took the excited young men out on the sailboat. Mark lived by a simple rule... be kind. Mark adored his granddaughters, they were the light in his eyes. There is a big hole Mark's passing has left. Next to my father, Mark was the nicest man I have known. He always took everyone at face value. I will miss my friend, dearly. (Mare)

My dad was a very special man. He was smart, funny, whitty and passionate about so many things. He was good at lots of things and taught me that a good life and positive results come from hard work.  I will miss him so much! Go with God, dad.

I worked with Mark for over six years and considered him a close friend. He was always ready to share his knowledge and experience, as well as to lend a hand or an ear as the situation required. Mark's early and untimely passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.

I have worked with Mark for the last two years and I feel we became close friends.  Mark was a very patient man with the "New Kid".  He was always willing to explain to me how things happened the way they did.  One of the last jobs we did was a tragic one and we shared each others pain working that scene. I will miss Mark very much and work will never be the same without him.  We had some interesting conversations during our travels all over the country together. He loved his family and it showed in all he did. Rest in Peace Brother. You will be missed.

My husband worked with Mark, Kyle Young.  Even though I only new him for a short time, I know he was a special man.  He was very caring and compassinate and that showed in the view conversations I had with him.  My prayers are with his family and loved ones at this time.
