Merinda Kay Hampton, 70, of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2016. She was born in Alice, Texas on March 15, 1945 to Hartman and Margaret Jones. She was married to Jerry Hampton for 47 years. Merinda had a career as a teacher and had a passion for teaching, shopping and shoes. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; children Jeff and wife Linda, John and Jennifer; and grandchildren Jenna and Alex Hampton. A Memorial Service to celebrate Merinda’s life will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Park East Funeral Home.
