Murray A. Ward Jr.

Murray A. Ward, 78, of Alvin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016. He was born in Meridan, Mississippi on December 15, 1937 to Murray A. Ward Sr. and Rachel Tate Ward. He was married to Gwen Ward for 59 years.

Murray had a career in the construction equipment business working for F.W. Gartner, Prime and Clear Creek Equipment Rental.

He had a passion for collecting caps, watching football games, reading and keeping his yard nice and trimmed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Murray A. Ward Sr.; mother Rachel Tate Ward; and baby granddaughter, Dana Marie Ward.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Ward; son, Clint Ward; daughter, Andrea Johnson and husband Glen; grandchildren, Tara Roberts, Laura Miller, Dirk Johnson, Brian Ward and Jena Johnson; great grandchildren, Brandon Roberts, Haylee Johnson, Blake Roberts, Hannah Johnson, Gracen Miller, Caden Miller, and Bryleigh Roberts; sister, Pat Walker.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 4, 2016 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 10:00 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
