Norma and twin brother Norman were born in Ft Worth Texas. The family lived in many places during the Depression before returning to Texas. She was a long time resident of Houston, graduating from Reagan High School.
She married Ed Ford in Houston on December 5, 1950. They lived many happy years in the Sagemont area. Ed Ford passed away in 2006.
Norma worked many years in the mortgage loan business and was a long time bookkeeper for a private company. She always knew where the money was.
Norma lived her life with no regrets – meaning that she always thought of the feelings of others first and never said or did anything that would be hurtful to others. She had no apologies to make in her life as she was gentle and kind to everyone. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt and friend to all. She was a great cook and gifted seamstress.
She kept excellent records and shared clippings of articles as a gentle way of giving advice. In the folder she kept of her funeral arrangements was a copy of “A Psalm of Life” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow that is uplifting final advice.
If you would like to make a donation in her memory, Houston Hospice is a nice choice as they provided gentle care during her last days.
