

Ola accepted Christ at the age of 12 years and was baptized by the late Reverend Wilson at Greater New Hope Missionary Baptist church in Dickinson, TX.
Ola graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in 1967 where she was also a cheerleader.
On June 27, 1970, Ola married the late Robert Lee Ward and to this union a baby girl named Lisa was born.
Ola worked as a secretary and then transitioned to a computer operator at Monsanto, later Sterling chemicals in Texas City, TX
Ola was married to the late Kenneth Freeman on April 27, 1984, until his death in April 1990.
Ola loved her Hightower family and started the first Hightower family reunion in the early 1980's in Huntsville, TX. She was also a lifetime member of the NAACP Dickinson branch during the leadership of the late Oscar Woods.
Ola is preceeded in death by her father the late Olan Polk, her mother the late Ada Hightower Polk, her sister the late Ruby Nell Polk, her brother the late Howard Lewis Polk, her sister the late Lizzie Mojay, her sister the late Mary Polk James, and her beloved nephew the late Calvin Earl White, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Ward, granddaughter Alexandrea Sherrod ( Paige)
great-granddaughter Alayah Allen, sister Joyce Polk, niece Monica Polk Hervey, nephews Stanley Polk and Ricky James, loving sister and brother-in-law Nola and Freddie Amey, sister-in-law Joyce Polk, God-daughter Akisha " Sugar "Jones. As well as a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins.
