

Pascuala Hurtado, 95, of Texas City, Texas passed away on January 17, 2022. Pascuala was born in San Miguel el Alto, Guanajuato, Mexico on May 17, 1926 to Carlos and Romana Gutierrez. She was the youngest of 6 children.
Pascuala was raised on a farm in central Mexico. She married Tomas Hurtado in October of 1944. Shortly after the birth of their first child in August 1945, they immigrated to the United States and settled in La Marque, Texas. They had 2 more children and in the spring of 1957 moved to Texas City where they lived until they passed. They never lost their love of the farm and at various times raised chickens, goats and pigs at home. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Her family was always her priority. She enjoyed sewing and liked to play cards, especially rummy. She was a baseball fan and enjoyed watching games on TV. Pascuala was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for over 60 years. Her faith was strong and she seldom missed attending mass.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Tomas Hurtado; siblings Luis, Felicitas, Andrea, Maria, and Lino; grandsons Damian Hurtado and Randy Hurtado.
Pascuala is survived by her three children Jesse Hurtado and wife Linda, Salvador Hurtado and wife Eugenia, and Rafaela Gonzales and husband Luis; four grandchildren Carmen, Jessica, Jovon, and Tomas; five great-grandchildren Isabella, Autumn, Isabella, Jayden, and Marcus.
A visitation for Pascuala will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. A funeral mass will occur on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City, Texas and a committal service to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Hurtado family.
