Richard W. Stewart

He was born in Houston, Texas on February 6, 1956 to Vernon and Jean Stewart. Richard was married to Judy Carolyn (Hudson) Stewart for twenty-one years.

Richard attended North Shore High School and graduated in 1975. Richard was a long time member at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a member of Troop 512 Boy Scouts for eight years and earned the rank of Eagle Scout his sophomore year.

He later completed an associate degree from San Jacinto College and became a draftsman. He worked in this field for several years. During lean times in the oil business, Richard sought employment in the transportation. He drove a truck for Frito Lay, Pepsi and later for various other trucking companies.

Richard loved driving a truck and was always interested in the various imports and exports going through the port of Houston.

Richard’s greatest joy was his family. Although he never had children of his own, he truly loved Judy’s children and the grandchildren. He also loved his nieces and nephews. Joking around and teasing each of them always made him and all of us smile. Lovingly teasing his wife Judy, was probably his favorite pastime.

He was preceded in death by Vernon and Jean Stewart, James Earl Fant (stepson)

He is survived by his wife Judy Stewart and his stepchildren, Dina Melton, Michael Fant (wife Amy Fant) and Cynthia Fant; grandchildren, Joshua Melton, Brandon Moss, Jacob Moss, Shane Fant, Dillon Fant, Kara Desselle, Avery Henderson, Isaiah Weatherspoon, Elijah Weatherspoon; brother, Doug Stewart (wife Cindi Stewart); sister, Charlotte Pearsall (husband Dick Pearsall); nieces and nephews, Chrissy Pichot (husband Travis Pichot and children Sierra, August and Henry Pichot),Travis Stewart, Catherine Stallé (husband John Stallé and child Elowen Stallé), Anna Farley (husband Cheever Farley and child Cheever)

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11:00 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Afterward the family will receive friends for a Visitation with a Reception from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
