Bob graduated from South Houston high school, class of 1961. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years. As a longtime member of South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena, Bob served as a Deacon and regularly volunteered to pick up members who were in care facilities or were homebound. When not volunteering his time at church, he enjoyed traveling both in the US and abroad. One of his favorite trips was a cross-country road trip from Houston to Alaska. It was during a trip to Hawaii that Bob discovered plumerias, which he spent many years thereafter growing. They were his labor of love that he didn't hesitate to give to many family members and friends. Some of his other hobbies included hunting, fishing, making stained glass, and reading. He was a devoted husband and father who loved to spend time with his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lee and Emily Oneda Jaynes; his sister Billie Louise McGinty; his brothers Charles Wayne Jaynes, and his twin brother Dicky Jaynes.
