Roy Kenneth Archer

Roy Kenneth Archer of League City, TX passed away February 19, 2016 surrounded by family. Born in Albemarle, NC to the late Fred Ira Archer and Ila Victoria Coley Archer, Kenneth was 91 years of age. Kenneth (Archie) retired from Collins & Aikman in Albemarle, NC after 33 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ila Archer, Brothers, Fred Ira Archer, Jr (Sonny), Robert Eugene Archer (Bob), and sister, Margaret Ruth Archer.

Mr. Archer is survived by his devoted wife, Mildred Morton Archer. On January 13, 2016, they celebrated 65 years of marriage.

He is also survived by his daughter, Pamela Louise Archer, and her husband, Simon Urbanic. They were honored to be his Caregivers during his last 5 years.

Mr Archer is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Archer Burleson (Lib) of Albemarle, NC.

A World War II Veteran of the US Navy, Seaman First Class, Roy Kenneth Archer enlisted in the US Navy on June 30, 1943. He was assigned to the Armed Guard Naval Service. Mr Archer received the European, Pacific, and American Theater Ribbons, and the Victory Medal. He served on the SS Joseph Smith, SS William F. McLennan, SS Pacific, and SS Meyer Lissner during his tour of duty.
