Ruben was born in Matamoras, Mexico on June 27, 1941. He moved to Los Fresnos when he was a child and then moved to League City where he met his wife of 47 years, Ruby Trevino. Ruben worked as pipe fitter for 32 years at Davis and Lynch until he retired in 2007.
Ruben loved working in his yard, fishing, barbequing, inventing new things, and spending time with his family. Anytime that the family needed something you could always count on Ruben to be there to help out. You could also count on him to be there to make you laugh, tell you a pretty exaggerated story, and give you a hard time just for fun.
Ruben better known as Pops, Papa, or Toro Melon was an amazing grandfather. He was very active with his grandchildren always involved in what they were doing. He attended sporting events, created things for them, and taught them how to fish. He always referred to his grandkids as the most beautiful kids in the world.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents José and Herlinda Treviño and his sister Ofelia Sanchez. He is survived by his wife Ruby Treviño; three brothers Benny Treviño, Leo Treviño, and José Treviño Jr., two sisters Lala Cueves and Josefina De La Fuente; two sons Ruben Treviño Jr. and Michael Treviño; four grandchildren Miranda, Luke, Brendon and Abigail; and one great grandchild Kaylee.
