Ruben P. Velasquez loving father and adoring grandfather passed away peacefully at this home on Monday May 31, 2021 at the age of 91. He was surrounded by his devoted family. Ruben was born in Sabinas Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon Mexico on September 27, 1929, to Francisco Velasquez and Herminia Perez. He was the eldest of 12 siblings. In 1949 Ruben met the love of his life Esperanza Zuniga and they married in 1951. They were married for 64 years. Ruben’s passion was raising and spending time with his grandchildren.
Ruben is preceded in death by his wife Esperanza Velasquez, his parents Francisco Velasquez and Herminia Velasquez.
He is survived by his six children; Homer Velasquez, Delia Leal, Ruben Velasquez Jr., Oscar Velasquez, Mary Elizabeth Salinas and Irene Lopez. He was blessed with 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
