Ruby Lee Thomas

Ruby (Brownie) Thomas passed away July 27, 2022 at the age of 97. She was born in Round Rock, Texas on June 1, 1925, the daughter of John (Buck) Brown and Martha Champion Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband Don E. Thomas; sons Don M. Thomas and Timothy Thomas; and brother Wallace (Buddy) Brown. She was known to many as Brownie. She is survived by her son Edward Thomas and daughter-in-law Susan; granddaughter Chrysta (Katherine) Thomas and husband Christopher Burt; and great-granddaughters Madison and Emma Burt. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

She grew up in several places as a girl and young woman. Her family became her life's work. Loving gardening, they were her thorny roses she called them. There were no weeds in her garden—only flowers. She enjoyed life, people, the places she lived, their music, food, and color. A good cause to help and cheer on if she couldn't. Loving and stubborn (nobody's perfect) to the end!

Come easy—visit—laugh—love each other

A visitation will be held for Brownie on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a celebration of life to start at 2:00 p.m. and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Thomas family.

Don't be too formal or sad. Next best thing to a family reunion is seeing old acquittances!
