From very humble beginnings, Edward accomplished and enjoyed many rewards in his earthly lifetime: marrying his one and only sweetheart, Hattie Jo, at 19 years old and dying in her loving arms at the age of 77; raising four healthy children; and living to enjoy his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the first in his family to graduate from high school and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A & M University.

Edward was a pioneering engineer in the aerospace industry. He had a long and accomplished career at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, with a vast list of contributions to the manned spacecraft program. Simultaneously, he had a long career in the National Guard and Army Reserve; culminating in retirement as Lieutenant Colonel.

Edward was a proud and independent man who carried his weight in the world and supported those around him. He was also a man of infinite love.
