Tommie L. Bishop

Tommie served our country proudly in World War II and the Korean War.

He taught public school for 32 years in Texas with the majority of the years taught at Clear Creek High School, where he continued to be a substitute teacher for another 17 years.

He was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Fern Roberson; and twin brothers, Jay and June Rogers.

Tommie is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy Bishop; children, Cindy Ann Bishop, Randy Lee Bishop and wife Laura and David Scott Bishop and wife Shelley; grandchildren, Zachary Lee Bishop, Jacob Greene Bishop, Austin McKinley Bishop, Sasha Grace Bishop, Shane Gabriel Bishop and Javier; sister Mildred Thorne; along with numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 2, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas. A Funeral Service will held on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., at Forest Park East Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the form of books to the Texas Avenue Baptist Church Library, League City, Texas.
