He was also made a Freemason in 1959. Belonging to various lodges such as Galena Park Lodge No. 1290 and Clear Lake Lodge No. 1417. He was also active in the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
Troy also spent many years as a beloved Little League baseball coach. Some seasons coaching them to a championship victory.
He loved anything with a motor; automobiles, motorcycles, and his once beloved boat “Chiquita”. He enjoyed watching westerns, telling stories, maintaining his always lush backyard, and sitting outside in his happy swing watching the butterflies, birds, and squirrels.
He was determined and generous, loving and kind. He was a hard worker, a strong man, and often the one who most would call to answer any question or solve any problem. He was a friend to many and loved by all, especially those who were blessed to call him “Papa Troy”. His spirit and legacy will live on in the memories of those who were lucky enough to know him.
