Wanda Jean Dudley, 85, passed away on May 18, 2026. She was born in League City, Texas, on November 26, 1940, to William Horace (WH) Parker and Ruth Inez (Hall) Parker. Wanda was married to Robert A. Dudley for 59 years, until his passing in 2020.
Through the years, Wanda built a warm and steady home rooted in her gentle, nurturing nature. Her love showed itself most clearly in how she cared for those around her. She was a quiet and kind hearted woman whose faith influenced her daily life. She was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother who found great joy in caring for her family. A loyal friend to many, she always made time to listen. Wanda expressed her love through the things she created, whether a home-cooked meal, jars of jelly and vegetables from Robert A’s garden, or her handmade treasures. The night before she left her assisted living home, after the other residents had gone to their rooms, she quietly placed vases filled with silk flowers that she had made in the days prior on each table - an unknowingly final, silent act of care that perfectly reflected her nurturing heart.
Some of Wanda’s happiest times were spent at the lake house, where she focused on what mattered most to her: spending quality time with family. She was also blessed with a close circle of friends for more than 60 years, friendships that stood as a testament to the steady, caring presence she brought into the lives of others.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Dudley; her brothers, Dalton Parker and Arthur Parker; and her sister, Rae McCormick. She is survived by her son, Todd Dudley and his wife, Sandy; her daughters, Vikki Hickerson and her husband, Darryl, and Rhonda Christopherson; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., with service and interment to follow at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
