

William F. Carmical, loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Saturday, June, 23, 2012, at the age of 86. He was born in Many, LA to Clyde and Roma Carmical. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Doris Cunningham Carmical; son, Frank D Carmical, daughter Kathy Bost and husband Jay; grandchildren Stephanie Burns, Brittany Lassiter and husband Scott, Blake Burns, and Kelly Burns; sister Mary Russell and brother Wayne Carmical; sister-in-law Barbara Monfort; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde, Jr. and Joe Carmical; brother-in-law Armand L. Monfort; and son, William Edward “Billy” Carmical.
Bill served in the Pacific in WWII as a Marine in the 3rd Division. He was wounded in battle at Iwo Jima on March 7, 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart. Continuing his desire to serve, Bill joined Houston Police Academy class #18 on April 28, 1958. During his career, he served in the Central, Eastside, and Southeast Division and retired on January 14, 1994 while assigned to the Clear Lake Division. In addition, Bill served as security officer for 25 years at what was originally Republic State Bank at Edgebrook and Gulf Freeway.
In honor of his life, a memorial service and interment will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598, (281) 332-3111.
