I'm not family but, Mr. Henderson was our neighbor in Piedmont and he was my principal in HS at Piedmont, Ok.  I was so fond of his friendliness with so many of us kids, his caring and concern for each of us. I'm 74 but I still have thought about him over the years as a teacher that I respected and cared about. I finally remembered his middle name and looked this up on Google. It was great to see that smile. His daughter was a year or two behind me, but it was a very small school then and we all knew each other. God bless his soul for being the kind of teacher that made me a better person. Phyllis (Smith) Larimer. 

I remember when Great Uncle Bill and Great Aunt Colleen would come visit Grandmother and the rest of our family that lived in Midland, Arkansas. Each year we would see their RV drive up, and we would walk two doors down to spend a few hours with them and their little dog.  Uncle Bill was always making jokes and entertaining us with his antics.  When I became a teacher we would talk about how education had changed through the years since he had first begun teaching. We always enjoyed their visits along with the opportunity to find out how Lucretia's and Terry's families were fairing.  We'll miss them both, but plan to see them again as we praise God together in heaven.

    In the mid 90's I moved to Carrollton, Texas and was there for about ten years.  While I was there, Bill and Colleen would drive their RV up to Grapevine Lake occasionally and hang out for a few days and they always invited me and my family to come hang out with them.  We really had a lot of relaxing fun.  I am so glad we got to do that.  When I look at this picture, it feels so much like he's right here now.  He was a fun brother, even though he sometimes called me the devil and I called him the devil's wife.  He kept us entertained a lot.  I especially liked it the time, just before World War II, he got angry with his two older brothers who deserted him on Saturday, laundry day, so when he washed their underwear, he starched them with heavy starch and hung them out to dry so they were very stiff.  The family enjoyed that little episode.  Even though I haven't got to see him much in the last few years, I miss him in my heart and look forward to seeing him again - probably in the not too far distant future.  His sister, Elsaleen

 Uncle Bill was a tremendous light in my life,  and a wonderful positive influence.   He always was in a good mood seems like,  and was always fun and funny.   He always made me laugh and have a good time.   I have no memory of him with a frown on his face.   How could a person be more of a Christian witness?  He showed me that a Christian man was full of good humor and love for his family.   I have no doubt we will all be surprised how many people he influenced for good with his life.   I am counting on seeing him in heaven and I know he will have a clean, really funny story ready.    Roger Dake, nephew

Family is so important and we thank God for the blessing of kinship with Bill and all the Henderson family.  Bill and  Colleen were special to us, as are their children Lu and Terry, and their spouses Mike and Debbie, their children and grandchildren.  Time and distance do not change familial love even though  age and circumstances  have prevented our being able to spend time together, especially in our latter years.  Mike and I loved being able to come for a visit in 2009 with Bill and Colleen, Terry and Debbie, and meeting some of the family.  It is a cherished memory.  We pray for all Bill's family at this difficult time, for your comfort now and for your health ongoing. You are always welcome at our home in Midland, and we would love to have any communication from you all at any time.  God bless all of you!
