William James "Jamie" Merrick, III

Jamie was born August 27, 1958 to William “Bill” J. Merrick, Jr., and Mildred Mozell McCall Merrick. He was baby brother to Debbi and Vickie, in San Antonio, Texas. As a young man he moved to Houston and made it his home. He worked in construction for a short time, then moved on to offshore work for a few years. After that he found work at Byrne Metals, where he became Project Manager. He loved his job dearly and they quickly became like family. Whenever he had free time, he liked to fill it up with hunting and fishing with his friends.

He always had a silly (and sometimes actually funny) joke. It was important to him that we knew he loved us.

Jamie will be deeply missed by his sisters, Debbi Merrick Bowers and her husband Mark, and Vickie Merrick DuBose and her husband Kenneth; his nieces, Triva and Tiffini; nephews, Jeremy and Wesley; great-nieces, Kali and Madelyn; great-nephews, Connor, Evan, and Koen; great-great nieces, Clover and Juniper; as well as so many wonderful friends who were like family to him. He’s gone on to be with our Mom and Dad, to whom he was a wonderful, loving son.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 8:00pm Monday, November 5, 2018 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. The funeral service will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 12:30pm.
