Yung Ye Wallace, 89, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 30, 2024. Yung Ye was born February 15, 1935, in Seoul, South Korea to the late Kee Seok Cho (Father) and Bu Jeon Park (Mother).
Yung Ye met Alton Leon in Seoul, Korea, while he was on leave from the Army. They were married for 51 ½ years until his passing. She accompanied her husband throughout his military service until they settled in Pasadena, Texas after his retirement in 1973. Yung Ye worked as a cafeteria worker at Sam Rayburn High School for 26 years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena from the time she moved to the area. My mom loved cooking Korean food and always took care of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Alton Leon, her brother; Du Hwan, and her sister; Ok Ja.
She is survived by her oldest son Yung Kuk and wife Vanessa of Houston, Texas; only daughter, Terri Lynn of La Porte, Texas; youngest son, Walter Leon of Pasadena, Texas; one brother, Tae Hwan and two sisters, Sook Ja and Yung Ja of Korea; 2 grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Bolan Kee Seok of Houston, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in her name through the link located below. Many of us are familiar with memory challenges, either personally or through loved ones.
