

Norman Robert Semple passed away October 8, 2012 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Semple, daughter Beverly Thames, son in law Robert Thames, and three grandchildren, Victoria, Travis and Susannah. Norman Semple commonly referred to as “Bob”, was born in Lawrence Massachusetts on 12/03/1928 to parents Astrid Olsen and Alexander Semple jr.. After completing high school, Bob joined the army for two years and went on to Suffolk College to get his Bachelor’s degree in History. He had a 40 year career working as a manager for Lewis Shephard and Hyster Corporation. Shortly after retiring, Bob and Shirley moved to Cape Cod and settled in Wellfleet, Massachusetts in 1992. He was very active with the Wellfleet 1st Congregational Church and enjoyed singing tenor in the choir and doing volunteer work at AIMs thift shop in Wellfleet. Bob had many interests. He played golf regularly, loved to read, listen to music, dance with his wife, play crossword puzzles, and most of all socialize with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and true friend to so many he knew. There will be a service at the 1st Congregational Church of Wellfleet, MA 200 Main Street on Wednesday, October 17 at 11AM.
