

Mr. Dyer is survived by his two daughters Amy Kmiec Patterson and her husband Bruce of Wellfleet, Heidi Dyer and her wife Martha Wheeler of Wellfleet. He also leaves 7 grandchildren Adrien Kmiec and wife Kathryn, Ainsley Kmiec, Alexis Kmiec Topolski and husband Morgan, Ariana Kmiec, Arielle Patterson Day and husband Joshua, Amelia Patterson, Rachael Dyer and 13 great grandchildren Kayla, Taylor, Addison, Gideon, Silas, Gabriella, Ashton, Henry, Zachary, Drake, Meredith, Warren and Tristan.
He leaves behind his sister Katherine Tesson.
He is predeceased by his wife Marilyn Amelia (Maker) Dyer. His son Herbert Raymond Dyer and his granddaughter Jessica Lynn Dyer. He is also predeceased by his sister Agnes Belanger and brother William Dyer.
Mr. Dyer was born in Wellfleet, the son of Raymond Dyer and Nellie (Rose) Dyer.
Mr. Dyer served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He did many different jobs during his life including running the Laundromat, construction, and was Wellfleet’s first full time Fire Chief retiring in 1983.
Mr. Dyer was a member of Adams Masonic Lodge and a past master. Was involved in the Rough Riders where he participated in horse riding events.
Mr. Dyer was known to his nieces and nephews as a prankster and was even called “Uncle joker”.
The services will be private for the immediate family.
A celebration of life will be held at Preservation Hall on Saturday 10/29/22 3-6pm. All are welcome.
