Alison Diane Harris (nee: Hough), 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 29, 2026, in Toronto Ontario. Born to Robert and Jane Hough on July 11, 1977, she leaves them behind, as well as her loving husband Peter Harris of 25 years, Children Mackenzie and Laura, and brother Richard. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
Raised on a dairy farm, Alison continued to love the rural lifestyle her entire life. Alison was active in both Girl Guides and 4-H throughout her youth. Alison completed her undergraduate, a double major in History and French, at Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed her Master of Information Studies at University of Toronto, and became a librarian for the city of Toronto.
Alison was a loving and devoted mother and wife. She was always thinking of others before herself. Alison’s generosity extended beyond her family; she was known for knitting mittens for coworkers and volunteering to coach children’s curling.
Alison enjoyed Geocaching; it was her way of exploring new places and finding unique things. She was a voracious reader, and would read books of every genre.
Forever loved, forever missed.
In lieu of flowers, Alison asked that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or the Toronto Public Library Foundation. Please donate blood if you are able.
A Celebration of Life for Alison will be held in the spring.
