  My heartfelt sympathy to Narisha, Jazmin and Trinity. I got to know Sarina through my sister,  Sunny with whom she worked at the Ministry of Health, OHIP.  We started out phoning each other and then we went on many outings together. Sarina loved life and adventure and I cherish the many things we did together like going out for each other's  Birthdays, going to the movies, visiting Toronto Harbour Front, going to the CNE.  We even went in  a submarine at Toronto Harbour Front, and rode in a Rickshaw in downtown Toronto. We look forward to going out to these events  year after year. Sarina and I got to each other's family very well. She took pride in her daughter and especially in Jazmin and Trinity. Sarina was my near and dear friend and I miss her.

Extending deepest sympathy to Narisha, Jazmin, and Trinity. Sarina and I worked together at Ministry of Health, OHIP.  We became very good friends and that friendship continued all these many years. Sarina was a very delightful, happy, hardworking and spiritual person. She loved her family, and was particularly fond of her two grand daughters. Sarina was an amazing and faithful friend. My family and I cherish the wonderful memories we have of her. Will miss you, Sarina. May you rest in peace.

Although Bernadette may not have been my grandmother biologically, she definitely was spiritually to my siblings and I. When Jazmin was born we all saw more of each other and we started calling her Grandma as well! How we met is through my mom and Aunty Karen. Their friendship turned into us all becoming family. Grandma was such a beautiful, loving soul inside and out. She was always down for fun and knew how to have a good time. She treated our family as if we were hers. 

My fondest memories were when we had gatherings and she would come help prepare before hand. Grandma use to always help me babysit the girls when we would go to the race track to watch the horse races, while the mom's would go have some time for themselves at the casino. 

Grandma will be dearly missed. 

REST IN PARADISE! 

As you sit with other family members and friends in the chapel, I wish so very much to be with you. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it is not possible for me to do so at this time. I am with you in spirit and thought. 

We grieve the passing of Bernadette whom we will miss deeply. 

I first met Bernadette for a short time in the 1960's. Shortly after my marriage to her brother, Cecil, we immigrated to Canada and lived in Quebec. Due to the distance, we did not see Bernadette and her family often but we visited her once a year, at Christmas time. When we moved to Barrie in 2003, our visits became more frequent. We saw each other at Christmas, Easter and had summer visits to beach.  Those were great times of merriment and laughter. It brought us closer and we got to know each better. 

Bernadette was a private person. She was kind and was willing to help when it was possible. Her kindness and love showed in the devotion and gifts she bestowed on her grandchildren, Jazmin and Trinity. 

Bernadette's compassion and kindness was not only to her grandchildren but also to her family. 

When our son was injured in a fall and could not walk, my husband and I had to go out of town for a week. We needed someone to be with him and attend to his needs. Bernadette willingly took on this responsibility with love and care. 

During another time, while my husband was in Sunnybrook Hospital, Bernadette offered me a place to stay with her family. She even drove me to the hospital so I would not have to travel on the train. Such was her love, devotion and compassion in her quiet way. 

Now, Bernadette has gone to meet her Maker, but remember family, as long as you live, she will live through you.

I was first introduced to Bernadette when I immigrated to Canada in 1969 and was met at the airport in Toronto.  Since then a long friendship began with Bernadette and her siblings.  Bernadette and I enjoyed going to many events, especially Caribana and The Exhibition, and most of all going out to lunch to celebrate her birthday and Christmas.  I will always cherish the memories of the times we shared together.  Gone too soon!

I write this with immense sadness. However, I will share some of my fond memories of my dear cousin, "The Miss" as she was 
affectionately known by the Hosein family.

When we were in our teenage years we became very close and remained that way. On many occasions I would spend week-ends at her parents home and we would share a bed.

Her late brother, Kazi and his wife, Edith would take us to parties and other events. Once they took us to a fashion show at the Trinidad Hilton Hotel and we returned approximately at 1:00 a.m. Later that morning, while I was still asleep on Bernadette's spot on the bed, her mother came in calling her and assumed that I was her and she hit me with a broomstick only to realize that Bernadette had already awaken and left the room. I am always reminded jokingly of that incident by her younger siblings.

June 1967 Bernadette moved to Toronto while I moved to Montreal. We both got married and in 1970 we had daughters born within months of each other.

She and Narisha visited us in Montreal many times. As a result, Narisha and Anissa became very close.

In 1978 my family and I moved to Winnipeg and the relationship between our families continued. Many times they visited 
Winnipeg and stayed with me. Bernadette and I would go shopping and out for lunch at her favourite restaurant, Red Lobster.

On occasions when my family and I went to Toronto we stayed at Bernadette's and had a wonderful time and enjoyed her hospitality.

 Every time I visited Anissa in Kingston she came with her grand-daughters and Narisha to see me. I can clearly remember both of us sitting on the swing in Anissa's backyard. We were talking and laughing like two little kids.

I found it interesting that she always had a secret to tell me and would say "don't tell anyone".  I became her confidant.

There is no doubt that Bernadette loved her daughter and grand-daughters Jazmin and Trinity unconditionally. She was very proud of them.

I will certainly miss "The Miss".

In loving  memory of a beautiful and wonderful soul  that's my aunty Bernadette or Miss. We grew up as sisters so she was like a big sister I never had. I will  forever cherish  those precious childhood time we shared as we spent time growing up together and her visits to Trinidad. 

May her soul rest in peace.

Aunty Bernadette was my grandma Ruth’s younger sister. She was a strong, vibrant, patient and loving single mom to Narisha. They both made inexhaustible sacrifices for each other. Guided by prayer and love, soft spoken Aunty B made memories for everyone. Particularly for Narish, Trinity and Jazmin. At Birthdays and Christmases many years ago, my grandmother eagerly awaited and exchanged cards and photos which were proudly displayed, clearly depicting her lover for her sister over the many miles of separation. Photos of high school graduation, with Santa, in the snow and Epcot Centre many years ago remain etched in my memory. My Dad Krishna, too often spoke of how well Narish was doing at school, how much she resembled her mom and how well Aunty Bernadette took care of her, her part time job while at school and so much more while he lived in Toronto. He truly admired you both and spoke highly of you. One thing, I will never forget was Aunty Bernadette’s smile. When she smiled, her entire face lit up; her eyes, her cheeks her forehead. Her smile was, what you might say even contagious, I remember, it made those around her smile as well. May her strength and determination, positivity and nurturing be passed on to her loved ones. May she find peace in the arms of the Lord and may her family know that she is at rest and peace. To Narisha, Jazmin and Trinity, know always that Aunty Bernadette loved you all immensely and unconditionally. May you all treasure her memories and teachings over the years.

Such a lovely woman and a gentle soul.  She was a soft spoken, genuine person who you just wanted the best for. 

My condolences to the family. 

What a lovely lady. We were always please to see her at the shop. She was always lively and  bubblely, she has a way of making one appreciate life a little bit more. Will always remember the time I was having a Xmas dinner for the staff, she stopped by the restaurant to purchase something and just decided to stay and join us. She was like staff anyways, she was always at the shop, just to drop by. She would on special occasions bring the staff Christmas cake and Sorrel from Trinidad. She would surely be missed.
