Joyce Patricia Walcott

It is with sorrow-filled hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Patricia Walcott on Sunday March 12, 2023. Joyce is the daughter of the late Millicent and William Phillips, beloved wife of the late Keith, mother of John Wayne Phillips, adoring grandmother to Michelle, Michael, Lewellyn and Laticia; great-grandmother to Rachel, Braden, Alexandra, Nathan and Brooke; sister of the late Muriel, Eleanor and Hillary; aunt of the late Anthony, Robert, Colin, Debra, and Jacqueline; and great aunt to a strong line of over 10 children and youth from her nieces and nephews both in Canada and Barbados.

Joyce was born in Montreal Canada and spent part of her early life in Barbados W.I before returning to Canada. She will always be remembered in both places as a woman of Strength, Power and Beauty. All who knew her will remember and love Joyce. She will be deeply missed by her only son John Wayne Phillips.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Duffin Meadows Cemetery, 2505 Brock Rd N, Pickering.
