Lintoy met Cyril in Chaguanas, Trinidad, while attending Naparima College in San Fernando and Cyril was teaching at St. Phillips/ St. James College. Soon after getting married and starting a family, Lintoy pursued a career working at Glendinning’s head office in Port of Spain. While Cyril pursued his post-graduate studies in Canada, Lintoy maintained the family and other responsibilities with the support of her loving parents. In 1965, Lintoy and children joined Cyril in Toronto, Canada where she raised the family and managed the George Brown College Bookstore. After 35 years of service and upon her retirement, Lintoy’s energy and enthusiasm was focused on raising her dear grandchildren, and being an active member, mentor and sponsor at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in West Hill, Scarborough where she served for 34 years. As a member of the senior 50+ club, she was involved in many activities and areas of the church such as carpooling members, cooking for events, participating in the prayer group and the Catholic Women’s League. She was a mentor and sponsor of the RCIA which involves mentoring those who want to join St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. At Christmas time, she would visit senior’s homes for mass and carolling and she looked after the Caribbean table at the many craft Bazaars through St. Joseph's. During her time with the church, she also travelled internationally.
Lintoy was always there to support her friends and family with whatever they endeavored and would help those in need without hesitation. She was the absolute best mother and wife a family could have asked for and she loved her family immensely. Lintoy had a fiery spirit and she stood behind those she cared about to push them ahead or, pull beside them, holding and anchoring them with infinite compassion and love. Lintoy loved to swim and continued to attend the gym and pool multiple times a week. She also continued to drive up until a few months prior to her 90th birthday. Lintoy will be missed dearly by her many friends, acquaintances and her family and church.

Ecclesiastes 3.1-11a
A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes.
For everything there is a season,
and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones,
and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
What gain have the workers from their toil?
I have seen the business that God has given to everyone to be busy with.
He has made everything suitable for its time.
The word of the Lord.
Matthew 5.1-12a
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew.
When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain;
and after he sat down, his disciples came to him.
Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, or theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
Corinthians 4.14-5.1
A reading from the second Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians.
Brothers and sisters:
We know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will bring us with you into his presence.
Yes, everything is for your sake,
so that grace, as it extends to more and more people, may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
So we do not lose heart.
Even though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,
because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen;
for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
The word of the Lord.
