Lloyd Julius Zimmerman

It is with extreme sorrow that we announce the passing of Lloyd at his home in Toronto, after a long illness. He leaves behind his beloved children Brett (Darlene), Tracy Bilecki (Bill), John (Alice Miao) and his devoted partner, Donna Wilkie. Predeceased by daughters Kandy and Terry and loving wife, Betty. He was the proud grandfather of Justin (Brenda), Jesse, Ashley, Luke and Matthew and great-grandfather to Alexander and Amelia. Predeceased by his sister, Betty Gaborko and brother-in-law, John, he leaves behind dear brothers Paul (Pat) and Les (Nancy), and loving nieces and nephews. Born in Slovakia, the family emigrated to Canada and made a home in Oil Springs, Ontario. An excellent athlete and student, Lloyd left his family farm and became an elementary teacher and Principal with the Scarborough Board of Education. A voracious reader, Lloyd especially loved history and amassed an extensive library. Retirement included travels with family. He spent countless hours enjoying his indoor pool, painting and attending monthly poker games with friends. We will all miss his love, humour and zest for a life well lived.

A reception will be held on Monday, August 7th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Giffen Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON.
