Mabel Grace Stevenson

Mabel Grace Stevenson (née Iserhoff), age 83, of Scarborough, Ontario passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Beloved wife for over 65 years of James. Loving mother of Jim, Bill, and Gary (Abby). Cherished Grammy of April, Holly, Kyle, Sage, Natalie, Emily, and Melanie.

She was born on March 26, 1940 in Moosonee, Ontario. She came into this world as one of nine family members, growing up in the James Bay Lowlands.

She will be missed by her surviving siblings; Jean Terminesi (née Iserhoff), Evelyn Davey (née Iserhoff), James (Bertie) Iserhoff, Fred (Buckey) Iserhoff, William (Lutchie) Iserhoff, and Stanley Iserhoff and their extended families from which Mabel had numerous nieces and nephews. Many of whom cherished their relationship with their aunt in a fashion akin to a surrogate mother. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Dorthy Iserhoff, and her brothers Sherman Carpenter and Delmer Iserhoff.

Mabel was a shutterbug (loved taking pictures) who liked to travel and enjoy time with family and friends. She was always quick to give a helping hand and a tell a joke or two. She was known for her energized approach to life (Halloween costumes, euchre, and lodge parties) and her exceptional hospitality. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family asks that she be remembered for all the joy she brought to others in life and not in the sadness of her passing.

Visitations for Mabel will be on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 11:20 AM to 12:20 AM at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave East, West Hill, ON M1E2S2. Cremation to follow at a future date.
