Margaret Theresa Heaslip

Margaret, known as “Bird” to her husband Desmond (predeceased), was his devoted and cherished wife of 70 years. As Mum, she was a proud and beloved mother to Maura, Deirdre (Larsen), Brendan (Christine), Desmond, Liam, Sean (Loretta), Robert (Rhona), and baby Des (predeceased). As Nanny and little Nanny, she was a treasured grandmother to Connor (Sarah), Phillip (Alyssa), William, Kaytlynn, Seamus, Lauren (Acton), Kieran, and Matthew (predeceased), and a great-grandmother to Charlotte, Isla, and Jude.

Her greatest happiness was her family and they will deeply miss her. She loved spending time with her cherished grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. A fun and sunny grandmother who always loved running a race with toy strollers, playing whatever games they fancied, or just discovering what new thing a grandchild had done.

Whether tai chi on the cottage deck, 40-minute runs on one of her treadmills, or chasing after one of her kids, she never stopped moving and showing all how to take advantage of every moment.

She will be fondly remembered for her love of family and kindness to all.

We invite you to join us for a service at St. Martin De Porres Church, 4179 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1E 2S3, on Friday, May 8th at 1:00 in the afternoon, followed by a burial at St Margaret's Cemetery, 4130 Lawrence Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1E 2R8, then reception at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E. Scarborough, ON M1E 2S2.

Margaret’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, specialists and PSWs whose compassion and care meant so much to Margaret and her loved ones.
