Nina Mae Swartz

She was born in Akron, OH on April 9, 1940. Daughter of the Late Aaron Leroy Swartz Sr. and mother Stephanie. Predeceased by her sister Beverly Ann Holden and daughter Brenda Lee Myers.

She was a devoted mother, loving daughter and a loyal friend to many.

Known for her caring nature, humility, quiet strength and wry sense of humour. She is survived by her loving sons Richard W. and Acle J. Gonyea of Toronto.

Her absence leaves an aching void in our hearts, but her spirit lives on in the cherished memories we hold dear.

A woman of great wisdom, she endured many challenges over the course of her 85 years that endowed her with an enviable resilience. She incorporated her life lessons in how she carried herself. Always available to share her insight without imposing it on others, she garnered respect from those whose lives she touched. She enjoyed a healthy social network and made friends easily. Nina found joy in listening to country music with her favourite artist being Charley Pride.

She leaves behind her heartbroken sons, her “adopted son” John H. Thomas and a community of friends at Extendicare Guildwood.
