

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Stephnie Althea Franks, on October 21, 2024. Beloved daughter of Bernice. Loving mother to Damion Gordon, Troy Grey, Kimone Grey-Hill and Jonathan Tan. Adoring grandmother to Mar’Keem Hill and Mar’kel Hill. Sister to Marva, Yvonne (predeceased), Dave, Courtney, Chris, Carry Dinnall (predeceased) and Frank. Favourite aunt to Ricardo “Ricky”, as well as many nieces and nephews. Stephnie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all her family and friends.
Stephnie was a devoted mother, beloved friend, and faithful Christian, Stephnie’s life was marked by her boundless kindness and love.
Known for her selflessness and compassion, Stephnie always put others before herself, nurturing her loved ones with a generous heart. As a woman of strong faith, she was baptized later in life, committing herself wholeheartedly to the Lord. She found joy in worship, often singing along to gospel music on a Sunday morning whilst cooking. She attending church where her presence was cherished by her community.
Stephnie had a gift for sewing and upholstery, a craft she used not only to provide for her family but to bring beauty and comfort to others. She lovingly crafted her daughter’s school uniforms and church dresses, and her handmade drapes adorned the homes of many friends and family. Baking was another of her passions; she delighted in making banana bread, Jamaica fruit cake, and homemade bread, filling her home with warmth and delicious aromas.
Stephnie leaves behind her children, who were the light of her life, along with family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close. Her legacy of kindness, faith, and creativity lives on in each of them.
Family and friends are welcome to gather at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E., on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Giffen-Mack on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. with guests welcome to arrive at 10:30 a.m. Stephnie will be laid to rest at Thornton Cemetery, 1200 Thornton Rd. N.
