Anil Roy is survived by his wife, Anjana Roy; siblings, Aruna Malhotra of Windsor, Ontario, Canada and Anupam Chopra of Delhi, India and many nieces and nephews.
Anil Roy was born on January 12, 1949 in Amritsar, India to Madan Gopal Ahuja and Pariksha Ahuja. He graduated from Institute of Hotel Management Catering & Nutrition from Pusa, New Delhi, with a degree in Hotel Management and Cornell University for Hospitality Management. After moving to Canada in 1975, Anil began working for hotels in Canada as a Chef and Food & Beverage Manager. Anil moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1982 and loved the lifestyle of Alaska. Anil was accomplished as a chef and great mentor for upcoming youngsters in the field. Anil made quite a name in the culinary field by having his own cooking show on TV in Anchorage, Alaska and having cooking shows throughout Canada and USA.
Anil was an active and dedicated member of the Hindu faith and was instrumental in establishing a Hindu temple in Anchorage, Alaska. Anil was very generous, with a heart of gold, and the most dedicated individual who loved helping everyone. He was very dedicated to his profession and a role model as a professional.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday, July 30, 2018 at 10 am, at Quattlebaum FH West, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33417. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anil’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Palm Beach County Food Bank.
