Betty Ann (Carrico) Schenk was born in 1925 and raised in Evansville, Indiana. She married LaVerne (Verne) A. Schenk on November 25, 1948. Verne and Betty moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1962 with their four children. Vern passed in June 2020. With Betty’s passing on February 27, 2021, she is survived by her loving family which includes her children; Carol and her spouse David Orbach, Michael and his spouse Susan, Linda and her spouse Lawrence (Lucky) Tippett, and Kevin and his spouse Leesa. In addition she is survived by 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Betty worked in the office at the Ideal Pure Milk Company in Evansville, Indiana. In the West Palm Beach area, Betty worked at the RCA computer manufacturing plant as a technician that wired harnesses and then as a quality control specialist checking soldering connections for main frame computers. When RCA closed the facility she started working at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Group in the test area. There she worked as a technician on jet engines and other equipment. Betty was also a registered real estate agent.
Betty was a volunteer, a past President and Vice-President of the Society of St. Vincent De Paul for Palm Beach County serving the needy for over 40 years.
Betty had been a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church for over 40 years. During this time she volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister.
