Debbie graduated from Florida State University in 1998. In August of 2013, Debbie joined John I. Leonard High School as the Fashion Design Instructor where she found her true calling. Debbie made her first imprint with her annual fashion show. She embraced FCCLA (Family Career & Community Leaders of America), the student organization for Family & Consumer Sciences students. During her first year of teaching Fashion Design in Lancer Country, she reinstated the chapter, having students compete at both the state and national levels. Debbie has taken her students to San Antonio and Washington, D.C., bringing home the Gold and Silver to her school. She accepted the role of Co-District Advisor, a position she has held for the past two years. Debbie took great pride in using all her resources to teach her students in and out of the classroom by building their confidence and helping them develop as individuals. On February 23, 2016 Debbie received the CTE (Career and Technical Education) High School Teacher of the Year award.
Her strong bold laugh, beautiful smile and charming wit will be deeply missed by her John I. Leonard family.
